As all flights are treated as domestic (within Schengen) on arrival you disembark the plane and go straight into the baggage reclaim hall. Due to Åland's unique tax position all passengers have to go through customs, though I didn't see any staff here. That brings you out into the checkin area.

International

Due to Åland's unique tax position you do have to clear customs, there were no staff on duty and only a simple phone to contact if you needed to declair something

There is no public transport from the airport. On weekdays there are ocassional buses from the main road about 500m away, otherwise it's a 4.5Km walk into the centre of town or Taxi's

The only flights are to Sweden and Finland, and as both are in Schengen all flights are treated as Domestic. Checkin is at the single desk, after which you pass through the small security screening area into the single gate room, then it's out onto the tarmac to board the plane directly.
