General:

The main airport for the Scottish Highlands, handling most flights onto the northern isles, and Scandinavia

Appearance:

The outside of the airport is starting to look a little dilapidated, and inside it is very cramped and in need of expansion

Inbound

Domestic
From the gate it’s a quick walk through a door marked UK arrivals into the main body of the airport

International
I have not flown internationally into this airport

Flew domestic so no need to go through immigration

A single baggage carousel in the main departures hall!

Flew domestic so did not experience customs

Busses operate to the city centre

Outbound

Domestic
A small and cramped check in area leads you through to the small landside area. Once through the (for Aberdeen airport) quite spacious security area you pass through the customary duty free shop before reaching the departures lounge

International
All flights are treated the same

1 Bar/Café on the land side, one Bar/Café airside

1 Bar/Café on the land side, one Bar/Café airside

One small self service food place on the landside. Nothing airside

Couple of shops landside, a duty free shop and one small bookshop/newsagents on airside

The toilets are, on the whole, clean - though in need of refurbishment
