General:

Quite small for an international airport (however 2B only deals with international carriers not domestic flights or international flights from the Hungarian airlines).

Appearance:

A new and still sparking airport. Clean and clearly signed.

Only a short walk from the air bridge to passport control and from there you are a short step to the baggage carousels. Passport checking only took a few seconds (the time the guard took to stop chuckling over the photo in my passport!). Through customs without stopping, straight onto the main arrivals hall with the airport minibus service desk.

The queue was processed quickly but with the police manning the passport control still having time to laugh at each persons photo!

The baggage belt is directly behind the passport checks and the bags came round quickly.

A large customs hall with absolutely no members of staff in sight.

From the front of the airport bus 200E runs regularly to the station at the end of Metro Line 3 where you can change for the Metro into the city. From the airport to the centre of town takes around 50 minutes.

Only 1 cafe/restaurant in the check in area (which is a problem when you are paranoid about missing your flight and turn up 3 weeks early - just in case!). Passport control is right next to the last check in desk and a very short walk (through the metal detectors) takes you into the departures lounge. Then there is a selection of shops including a large duty free shop. Couple of Cafe's/Restaurants clear departure screens giving information on departures. Very light and airy lounge with large expanses of glass.

Only 1 cafe/restaurant on the land-side and no bars. Once through to air-side there are a couple of cafe/restaurants that also have bars attached.

Most of the departures lounge is just seating. There are a couple of small shops and a large duty/tax free store.

The toilets are very clean and well maintained.
