General:

A modern terminal building

Appearance:

A very light and airy building with lots of space

The flight parked out on the air field and we had to be bussed into the terminal. Its a short walk down a set of steps to the immigration booth and through those into the large baggage reclaim hall and out into the arrivals hall.

For the numbers coming through they didn't have enough staff on duty, and each desk was taking all passports so the queues were very long and slow moving

The baggage reclaim hall is very light and airy with several belts, baggage came round in a matter of moments.

From the baggage reclaim hall there is a short customs hall with a couple of guards standing around.

There are regular trains to Köln Hauptbahnhof taking around 15 minutes and a half hourly bus service to Bonn Hauptbahnhof taking around 30 minutes

Through security you are into the main departures lounge, off of which all the gates come, creating lots of space. For flights outside of the Schengen zone you pass through passport booths into the far end of the terminal where there are no facilities

Several cafes and bars both before and after security

There are a couple of restaurants each side of security

Several shops including a large duty free airside

The toilets are clean and well maintained
