 This is the main airport for the Orkney Islands, and the only one with links back to Scotland
   

Appearance:

 The terminal building is new and very light and airy

There is a small baggage belt in the main part of the airport

There is a regular bus service from the front of the terminal building into the centre of Kirkwall

After checking in you wait in the main part of the airport until your flight is called, at which point you go through security to the departures lounge
