On landing it's a relatively long walk along a number of corridors until you reach the domestic baggage hall, from here you exit into the terminal building right by the entrance to the Metro

International
I have not landed from an international flight at this airport

As I have not flown internationally into this airport I did not pass through immigration

The small domestic baggage reclaim hall has two belts located quite close together. Thankfully ours was the only flight around the time, and even then it was till quite cosy in the reclaim hall.

The Tyne and Wear Metro Green line to Central Newcastle, Gateshead and Sunderland starts at the airport, with a corridor link running from the terminal building to the station. Trains run every 12 minutes or so and take about 30 minutes to the centre of Newcastle, 35 to Gateshead and about an hour to Sunderland

After checking in and clearing security you are in the same departures lounge as all other flights, before being called to the gates.

International

In normal times there would be a selection of cafes/bars and restaurants airside. At the time I visited there were still major Covid-19 restrictions in place so all bar one restaurant were still closed

Several shops, including the usual enormous walk through duty free

The toilets were clean and well maintained
