General:

The only airport on the island

Appearance:

The airport had grown over stages with four modules radiating out from a main terminal building. At the time of visiting quite a lot of work was going on so the airport was in a bit of a mess

I have not flown domestically from this airport

The plane landed away from the terminal building so we had to be bussed to the terminal, there we joined the back of a long queue to get through the two passport control desks and then a very long walk to the large baggage reclaim hall

Immigration was two booths placed in a corridor, which lead to very long queues to get through

The massive baggage hall (at least 20 belts) was in the process of being upgraded so was in a bit of a mess and quite dark

The whole customs hall was being rebuilt so rather than passing through a customs hall there were officials wandering around by the belts

The number 1 bus runs every 15 minutes or so into the city centre

The checkin area covers the length of the terminal building on the first floor, and even when there weren't that many flights going out appeared to be quite busy and a little cramped in places. A large queuing area for security clearly indicates where the pinch points are at the airport. Once through security (into a building site at the time of visiting) you are then directed to one of the four modules that flights leave from

A couple of small café/bars land side, several more airside

A small selection of restaurants once you get airside

A couple of large duty free shops airside

The toilets looked in need of upgrading, but were clean
