General:

One of the largest airports in the country, and located close to the city centre on the mainland

Appearance:

The airport looks very modern with lots of space and facilities

Inbound

Domestic
I have not flown domestically from this airport

International
Having landed we had to be bussed from the plane to the terminal building, entering by the immigration hall, from there it was a short walk through to the large baggage hall. There is no customs hall, just officers standing around and an area marked out for goods to declare. Once through the sliding doors you are in the arrivals hall

The immigration hall is quite large, but when I arrived, not particularly well staffed

A large and airy baggage reclaim hall, with several belts.

No separate customs hall. Officers stand around in the baggage hall, and there is a marked area to go to declare goods, otherwise you walk through the sliding doors and out to the arrivals hall

There are regular busses to Piazzale Roma on Venice, alternatively, and much more spectacularly, you can catch a boat from the terminal building to the centre of the city

Outbound

From the large checkin hall which occupies the whole length of the upper floor of the building, you walk through the security area into the large departures lounge. For passengers travelling outside of Schengen you have to go through passport control to a much smaller lounge, which only has one small shop and a café

A couple of café/bars landside and a few more airside

A couple of café/bars landside and a few more airside

A couple of restaurants airside

Large number of shops once through security

The toilets are very clean and well maintained.
