NOW CLOSED The largest (only) commercial Heliport running schedule helicopter services in the UK. Also one of the smallest departure ports I have ever gone through |
Appearance: |
A large prefabricated box with a helipad outside |
Domestic
After getting off the helicopter you walk round the edge of the building to collect your bags from the hand pulled wagon which arrives a few minutes later. You don't actually enter the building.
International
There are no international services from this port.
There are no immigration checks as all flights are domestic
The baggage is brought round to you at the front of the building on a hand pulled wagon by a member of staff shortly after landing. You don't actually enter the building.
There are no customs checks as all flights are domestic
Bus stops running back into town are located on the road outside the building, alternatively it's a pleasant mile walk along the sea front back to the centre of Penzance
Domestic
The most bizarre experience. You get called through from the waiting room to a small side room, where you are shown a video briefing about what to do in the event of an accident etc. (the usual airline safety briefing) before you are led out to the helicopter

Small kiosk by the entrance serves a small selection of hot and cold drinks and snack food. It also acts as the newsagents, bookshop and stationers.
