We had about an hours wait in Malmö, which we were able to sit out in the SJ Lounge before it was time to board our high speed train across Sweden to it’s capital.

The journeys between Kiel & Oslo and Oslo & Copenhagen had included some stunning scenery as we’d sailed up fjords, past islands and castles. The leg between Malmö and Stockholm was perhaps the dullest of the journey with just rolling green hills and farms as we sped our way across the width of Scandinavias most populous country.

The only really interesting part of the journey was the last 10 to 15 minutes as we approached the capital with the final approach into Stockholm over the locks of Slussen and behind the historic buildings of Gamla Stan before finally reaching Stockholms centralstation.

We hopped off the train, and after some wandering around the massive complex that is T-Centralen we made it onto the metro out to our hotel for the evening, arriving in time to drop off our bags and then head straight down to dinner in the hotel restaurant.

After dinner we went for a little wander, before having a night cap and then turning in for the night. Despite having spent most of the day sat down on trains it was probably the most tiring day of the trip so far!
