Connemara Tour, Galway

Description

Several tour companies offer day trips to Connemara. The tour company I went with takes a slightly different route to the other companies as it uses smaller coaches to get up into the mountains along roads a normal full size coach wouldn't fit along

The tour starts off with a visit to the ruins of Ross Errilly Friary near Headford before crossing over into county Mayo and visiting the town of Cong, where the film "The Quiet Man" was filmed.

The tour then runs through the stunning Connemara countryside before finally making it to Kylemore Abbey for its main stop

From the Abbey the tour runs back down following Lough Corrib back into the city centre

The driver gives a running commentary throughout the day with key facts as well as general information and Craic.
