General: |
Medium sized airport located on the edge of town |
Appearance: |
At the time of visiting the airport was undergoing major upgrade, renovation and expansion works. Consequently it was in a bit of a mess |

I have not flown domestically from this airport

The plane landed some distance from the terminal and it was a bus to the very small and cramped immigration hall. After a scrum for passports it was through to the ageing baggage reclaim hall, with it's lack of toilets, and then past a single bored looking customs official to the arrivals hall
Several kiosks, though with three flights landing only two desks were opened, but as the queue disappears around a corner you don't know which queue is which and all queues end up being all passports
The baggage reclaim hall was in clear need of an upgrade, it looked tired with the floor having ripped coverings and lumps and bumps all over it
A single very bored looking customs official was standing by the exit doors from the baggage hall to the arrivals hall
There are regular BLQ busses from the airport into the city centre, taking around 30 minutes (or much longer if you hit the rush hour)

Bologna airport suffers, at times, from major queue issues, with the queue for security being massive. Having finally cleared security you are into the main departures hall which was undergoing major works when I visited. For non-Schengen flights you walk down to the first couple of gates to pass through passport control. No air bridges are currently in operation so it's either a bus or walk to the plane
A couple of bar/cafes both landside and airside
A couple of bar/cafes both landside and airside
There is a small food court land side, but only cafés airside
Several shops airside selling the usual selection of tax free goods
Limited toilet facilities, all of which were unisex at the time of visiting. Lack of toilets particularly noticeable in baggage reclaim
