General:

The only airport in the world which has the main road running across the runway! Originally built as an RAF station, and the main lifeline of the area during the period when the border was closed.

Appearance:

The outside looks a little dated, and there is only one small building. The whole airfield is very open (as it has the main road across it!)

After walking from the plane to the building you go straight into immigration and from there through to a cramped baggage reclaim hall with a single belt. The customs hall is slightly out of proportion with the rest of the airport, more resembling those at major city airports!

Two desks almost at the entrance door to the terminal building from the air field.

Quite cramped and dark with just the one belt

A large customs hall, which is out of proportion with the rest of the airport

Regular buses on routes 3, 9 and 10 leave from the opposite side of the road to the terminal building

After checking in in the bright and airy check in area it's a short walk through security to the small and slightly dated departures lounge. There are several duty free shops, lots of seats which wouldn’t look out of place in the 1970's and the two gates

There is a café/bar on the landside of the airport and a small café/bar in the departures lounge

There is a café/bar on the landside of the airport and a small café/bar in the departures lounge. There are no formal Restaurant facilities

There are several duty free shops once through to the departures lounge

The toilets are relatively clean, though the ones in the baggage reclaim hall were a little unpleasant
