General:

One of the largest airports in the UK outside of London. Manchester acts as the main hub for north Wales and Northern England

Appearance:

The airport has expanded over many years, which is shown in its appearance. Some areas look very modern, others much older, though there are parts that are obviously undergoing renovation

Inbound

Domestic
From the air bridge it's quite a short walk down into the baggage reclaim hall and then out into the main arrivals hall, the real walk start there as its about another 10 minutes to get to the train station in terminal 2

International
Not Used

Only used the airport on domestic flights

Three smallish baggage belts are in a not much larger reclaim hall (in fact one is down a corridor and into an even smaller hall)

Only used the airport for domestic flights

There are regular trains into the centre of Manchester from the station in Terminal 2

Outbound

Domestic
Once through the small check-in area and the equally small security area you come into a relatively large departures lounge with a selection of shops and cafes. All the gates radiate from here, with several actually in the main part of the departures lounge

International
Not Used

There are a couple of Bars on the land side and two on the airside

There are a couple of Cafés landside, and a couple airside

There are no real restaraunts, but the cafés and bars serve snacks

There are several shops in the main departures lounge

The toilets are very clean and well maintained.
