General:

The only airport on the island

Appearance:

A large modern airport

Inbound

Domestic
On landing the plane may arrive on one of the jet bridge equiped gates, otherwise it's a short walk across the tarmac to the terminal building. There is only one arrivals area, if the flights are international the passport booths are staffed, otherwise you can walk straight through to baggage reclaim and exit to arrivals via the customs chanels

As I've only flow on a domestic flight there were no immigration checks

A relatively large baggage reclaim hall with a couple of belts, was fine for a weekday in February but probably quite cramped in the height of the summer season

There didn't appear to be any customs, just a door to walk through to get to arrivals.

There are half hourly buses from the Airport to Santa Cruz de La Palma via the resort town of Los Cancajos, taking around 5 minutes to Los Cancajos and a further 10 onto Santa Cruz.

Outbound

Domestic
Checkin takes place on the main floor before you head up to the top floor for security and departures. Two gates have jet bridges whilst the rest board either via bus or walking across the tarmac

International
International departures are kept to gates 1 and 2 at the far end of the terminal which are separated from the domestic gates by passport booths. Gate 3 doubles up as both a domestic or international gate and is one of the two gates with an airbridge

A couple of bar/cafe's landside and airside

A couple of bar/cafe's landside and airside

No real restaurants

One small duty free shop once through security and a couple of Kiosks airside

The toilets were clean and well maintained
