Description
A large botanical garden clinging to the side of the cliffs above the city centre. There are a range of plants including species endemic to Madeira as well as many plants that thrive in the climate.

Getting There
Buses leave from the city centre climbing up to the entrance. For a more interesting way of reaching the gardens take the Cable car to Monte and then the Botanical Gardens cable car from Monte down to the gardens themselves.
