Shanklin: Chine 
Description
One of the many Chines on the islands, small gorges formed by streams cutting down through the cliffs. Thanks to the protection that the cliffs give the areas are a haven for flora and fauna. You can climb up through the Shanklin Chine from the Esplanade to the Old Town at the top.

Getting There
See Shanklin for details on getting to the town. In Shanklin the Shanklin Steamer bus takes you down to the Esplanade, as does the Island Coaster from where you can reach the bottom of the Chine. Alternatively, the Number 3 bus goes to the old town at the top of the Chine from where you can walk down to the EsplanadeLatitude: 50.626475; Longitude: -1.175312
