Yellow Bikes Countryside Tour, Amsterdam

Description

The tour starts off in the city centre, then crosses the river on one of the free ferries before heading off into the countryside north of Amsterdam.

The tour goes through open countryside and along the edge of canals for about 90 minutes before reaching the town of Broek in Waterland where there is a stop for lunch (extra) with the opportunity to have traditional Dutch pancaces

After the lunch you continue through the Dutch countryside until you reach the Ijmeer Dyke, which protects Amsterdam and the Waterland region from flooding. You cycle along this for a while to the town of Durgerdam where there is a stop for drinks (optional)

Along the way the guide tells you all about the area you are travelling through and how man has helped to shape the landscape, and recover vast tracts of land.

Length

The tour lasts about 6 to 6 1/2 hours
